Celebrate Carnivale 2016 in true Port Douglas style at The Meridian!

2016 marks the 22nd Birthday of Carnivale celebrations in Port Douglas, and this time round it will spread out over 3 action packed days from Friday 20th May to Sunday 22nd May.

The Macrossan St Parade on the Friday commences the festivities at 5pm with a spectacular show of fireworks at 8pm.

Watch locals and visitors alike flock to Port Douglas to celebrate the start of the tourism season. There really is something for everyone at this highly anticipated event including arts, entertainment, sports, food & wine, comedy, culture and music.

Across the 3 days there are a huge variety of events for the whole family to enjoy and participate in! Watch the magical Macrossan Street come alive with buskers, street art, dancers, artists and singers. Watch local, national and international acts and join in on the fun!

Are you a confessed foodie? Indulge your tastebuds at Feast Port Douglas on Saturday the 23rd May from 5.30pm at Rex Smeal park and join us for Jansz Longest Lunch on Friday 22nd May for a luxurious afternoon of seafood and fine Australian wine.

There’s also plenty of sporting and game events to keep the kids entertained like the Carnivale Backyard games on Sunday 24th May at The Reef Marina from 10am.
