The Best Cocktail Venues in Port Douglas

It’s hard to imagine paradise without picturing yourself lazing on some tropical beach with a cocktail in hand, right?

The good news is, the dreamy Four Mile Beach is always just around the corner when you’re in Port Douglas (tick!), but where will you find the life-changing drinks on this holiday, I hear you ask?

Don’t worry, we’ve got your back – and we’ve also got a list of the top bars in town. While you might not exactly be lounging on the sand while enjoying your mojitos, we promise that only the best spots have made the cut. Cheers to that!

Zinc Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge

Zinc is definitely one of the first places that will be recommended to you by a local, and for good reason! It’s that type of venue that makes any old evening feel that extra bit special. Its atmosphere is the perfect balance between relaxed and sophisticated.

It would only be fitting to taste the tropical flavours of the FNQ punch, made with Bacardi, pineapple, and passionfruit. Another brilliant option is the refreshing Rainforest Remedy – a concoction of vodka, yuzu, dill, celery, green apple, and agave. Yum!

Salsa Bar and Grill

Hello, seaside dining! This is an extraordinary open-aired venue that overlooks the Dickson Inlet and Anzac Park. Salsa is a multi-award winning bar and restaurant that delivers exceptional beverages and even better food.

With such an extensive list of cocktails available, you’ll easily find the drink of your dreams. Popular choices include the Brazilian Booty with cachaça, vanilla, pineapple and lemons, or the Late Night in Port espresso martini. Trust us when we say this is a spot that can’t be missed!

Look, this is the closest to that paradise as you’ll get! It’s a laid-back coastal setting with daybeds and views to impress, so be warned – sunset drinks at Barbados may just become a part of your holiday routine – winning.

For something fresh, try one of the signature cocktails called the Garden of Eden which combines vodka with Amaretto, raspberry, and strawberry liqueur, topped with fruity delights. If you’ve brought a few friends along, the Pimms Mix jug will treat you well!

Jimmy Rum’s Mixing Lounge

In the heart of Port Douglas is where you’ll find Jimmy Rum’s – an old-school stylish bar with a cosy and relaxed ambiance.  We all know that outstanding service can really be the thing to set some bars apart – so thankfully the crew here are all lovely, and they definitely know a thing or two about cocktails!

There’s a huge selection of unique drinks available which ensures you won’t get bored too quickly. Both the classic and signature cocktails are tasty enough to knock your socks off! Most guests are keen to try the 4-Mile-High Club which is a take on the famous Clover Club, made with gin, citrus, raspberry, pomegranate and elderflower. The dessert cocktails are incredible for something sweet.

Sassi la Cucina

Who doesn’t love a little bit of wine and dining while on holiday? Sassi is a fantastic place for an indulgent evening of food and drinks. Authentic Italian cuisine has to be one of the best accompaniments possible with a few bevvies on a balmy night!

Ask the bartender about your all-time favourite drink, or order the Brandy Alexander with Crème de Cacao and cream for something new. Another crowd-pleaser is the Toblerone cocktail which tastes as good as it sounds – it’s a combination of Baileys, Kahlua, butterscotch schnapps, Frangelico, and cream – Bellissimo!

Who’s feeling thirsty? Waste no more time, grab your friends and head out on the town – have fun and enjoy!
