Fresh Seafood in Port Douglas

It’s no surprise that the seaside town of Port Douglas is a mecca for fresh seafood! But the hardest part can be finding the best places. That’s where we come in! Eat like a local and check out our selection of the very best seafood in Port Douglas:

On the Inlet
A firm favourite amongst locals, On the Inlet has long been regarded as the number one top spot for a decadent seafood feast. On the Inlet has relocated to Wharf St and is still one of the most high regarded restaurants in Port Douglas.
TIP: Go for the famed seafood platter for 2 and indulge in oysters, prawns, mussels, sashimi, bugs, yabbies and whole mud crab.

Zinc  Restaurant and Lounge
Recently reopened in 2018, Zinc Restaurant & Lounge is located on the corner of Macrossan st and Port Douglas rd (just a few minutes walk from Meridian). Zinc offers an extensive menu with lots of mouthwatering seafood options including sashimi, oysters, seafood linguinie, whole fish and their popular ‘Raw Four Tastes of the Sea’ special. To sweeten the deal, Zinc offers an enviable wine list with over 80 options.
TIP: Keep an eye out for their daily food specials and enjoy a cocktail in their lounge bar!

2 Fish
The multi-award winning 2 Fish Restaurant offers contemporary seafood cuisine and is located just moments away from the iconic Four Mile Beach. Named the ‘Best Seafood Restaurant in Australia’, 2 Fish serves up the region’s finest seasonal and sustainable produce including local line-caught trout and Moreton Bay Bugs. Do you love your Vino? Each dish can be paired with a glass of wine from their impressive list. Enjoy the stylish atmosphere and top notch service of 2 Fish Restaurant during your stay in Port Douglas.
TIP: On a budget? Kick back after a dip in the ocean with a delicious bucket of prawns and glass of wine for $18 or a dozen oysters natural and glass of wine for $24.

Fresh prawns – Market or Marina
Nothing beats freshly caught prawns! Especially when they are purchased straight from the back of the trawler at the Port Douglas Marina. There are no set dates for this, so make sure to keep an eye out for signage around town and ask the friendly staff at Meridian. You can also score yourself a bag of freshly caught prawns from the Sunday Markets.
TIP: Grab a bag of prawns, head to Anzac Park and devour them by the water – the perfect lazy Sunday activity!
