Calling all marathon lovers – IRONMAN Cairns is being held on the 10th of June 2018 and is one that you don’t want to miss!

The highly regarded Cairns IRONMAN has been known as the best of the best when it comes to beautiful courses in picturesque locations. Run, swim & cycle beside the Great Barrier, Reef, Daintree and Coral Sea.


IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Cairns – June 10th 2018

The IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Cairns will be held on the 10th of June 2018.

From reef to rainforest, competitors will endure a challenging but stunning bike ride along the coast of the Coral Sea and World Heritage rainforest from Cairns to Port Douglas followed by a run on the impressive Cairns boardwalk and finishing up in the Cairns city centre.

This year there are 80 qualifying slots to the 2018 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, now the best opportunity to qualify in the Asia-Pacific region!

IRONMAN 70.3 Cairns – June 10th 2018

This IRONMAN course is the same course as the renowned Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns from reef to rainforest. Athletes will swim in the calm Tropical North Queensland waters, bike ride on the stunning Captain Cook Highway and run the Cairns boardwalk and finishin in the heart of Cairns city with supporters cheering them on at the finish line.

There are 30 qualifying slots to the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nelson Mandala Bay, South Africa.

1.9km Swim Course

Athletes will start at Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove, Cairns’ most prominent and famous beach. The 1.9km course offers a stunning tropical and balmy swim.

90km Bike Course

Cyclists take in the breathtaking views of the Captain Cook Highway and the tropical seaside rainforest. The undulating and winding course will take competitors past Ellis Beach and Wangetti before reaching the turnaround point north of Rex’s Lookout.

21.1km ASICS Run Course

This is the time for all competitors to enjoy the end of their race where competitors go through the vibrant ‘hub’ of the Cairns Esplanade, one of the most popular destinations, for both tourists and locals, in Cairns. Athletes will past the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, take in the impressive site of Mount Yarrabah across the water and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Esplanade. If you have friends and family supporting you on the day, this is the place to be to catch all the action of the final leg of the IRONMAN 70.3 Cairns.
