There are many incredible events coming to Far North Queensland in 2020, and the Cairns Ironman is just one of them!
The Asia-Pacific championships will take place on June 7 and the event is expected to draw crowds from all across Australia. If you’ll be in the tropics during this time of year, we recommend that you get involved and immerse yourself in the extraordinary Ironman experience!
The Ironman is situated in the glorious setting of Tropical North Queensland, boasting phenomenal views of the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and luscious rainforests. Better yet, there’s no better time than June to visit the wondrous FNQ.
With a massive 75 qualifying places up for grabs for the World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, these dedicated athletes will be performing to the best of their abilities. The triathletes have a 180km ride, 3.2km swim, and a marathon (42.2km) ahead of them – so we’re sure that plenty of crowd support along the way won’t go unnoticed! You can cheerlead from the sidelines of Port Douglas or at the finish line on the Cairns Esplanade. The Cairns Ironman 2020 will be nothing short of impressive!
Good luck to all the competitors and we hope to see you there! Find more information here.
